Is this Kamui Uehara? Sorry if I have the wrong person.
[ Thankfully navigating this stuff doesn't seem too different from communication methods back home, but.. this place is still kind of unsettling and strange, and it leaves the man not completely sure he's doing this the right way. ]
This is Daniel LaRusso. We met on my first day here. Could you maybe let me know where you are staying? I have something for you.
No, you've reached the right man. Hello, Daniel-san.
[Daniel is nice enough, but it's probably better not to give a near stranger his apartment's exact address yet. Particularly not when someone else is staying with him. Instead, he sends the address of a small nearby park:]
I'm a short walk from this park. I can meet you there, if that's okay.
[ Wow, that sure is a great amount of people who don't trust him enough to give him their actual address, huh. Somehow Kamui's is even further away from his actual apartment than Heine is..
Daniel does notice, even if he doesn't remark a thing about it. He understands why people are doing it, after all. This place is mighty omnious, and it's not like anyone here really knows him.
(It still stings a little, especially with how lonely he's been feeling.)
It's a feeling Daniel immediately tucks away, allowing it to hurt no one but himself. Instead he just replies: ]
Of course. As long as you don't mind carrying it home by yourself. [ Not like he's got something super heavy, but.. you know.. ] I will leave right away to go there, so you wait a little first and then take your time. I have to walk further, and I'm still not very quick.
[ Considering his physical state still not exactly being optimal. ]
But hearing it's far away from wherever Daniel is makes him feel a little guilty now, too. It isn't every day that someone goes to the effort to actually give him something, and that ingrained politeness is doing a lot of work, too--]
Oh, no! It's okay. I can even meet you somewhere closer, if that's easier.
[A beat. "Still"...?]
Are you injured? There's pharmacies everywhere here, if you need anything...
[ Of course that's the first thing he writes. Daniel wouldn't be Daniel if he wasn't pretending at all times that he's extremely fine, just to make sure other people won't worry. ]
But some stuff just needs to heal on its own over time. It's nothing too serious though. [ Written by a guy who definitely got his ass kicked real hard.. S-Ssh.. ] I'll see you there?
[ Great distraction attempt there at the end, Daniel. A++. ]
[Note to self: ascertain what Daniel's actual condition is when you see him in person.]
All right. See you in a few.
[And sure enough, in a few minutes, Kamui waits at the end of a bench in a small park, peering around for wherever Daniel might be coming from. When he sees him approaching, Kamui walks up to meet him rather than wait. It's not picking a closer meeting spot, but hey: he tried.]
You made it. It's good to see you again, Daniel-san. [He gives the older man a quick once-over. He... could be better. But he could also be way worse.]
[ It's a good assessment of Daniel's state, honestly. It does seem like his wounds are healing, though it must be a slow process if they're still showing up. The big bruise on the side of his face that was nasty shades of red and blue when he first arrived is now more of a sickly yellow and green, the kind of colour it turns before it starts to fade. The marks are still visible on his neck too, but it looks like he's in less pain when he walks, at least.
He's holding a covered bowl in his hands - a bowl he moves to hold out towards Kamui. There's no explanation, though Daniel tries to put a small, but encouraging smile on his face as he holds it out. It's the best he can do when he can't exactly use his phone for communication when he needs both of his hands to hold the bowl..
If Kamui takes it, he'll find it's a little warm to the touch, though not too hot. If he looks underneath the cover at all, there's a pasta dish in there - enough for Kamui to eat once off and even have some leftovers for later.
Kamui taking it will also give Daniel access to his hands again, and therefore to his phone. He takes it out of his pocket, typing to communicate once more, making the phone read his text out loud for him with its robotic voice. ]
I know it's easy to get food here, but the meals in the restaurant seem a little strange. [ Read: Daniel doesn't trust the way the meals just.. appear, as if put there by ghosts.. ] So it might be nice to have a handmade meal, right? It's the least I could do after you helped me before.

What was it you wanted to give me?
